John is licensed in Oregon and Washington. Before law school, the Illinois native was a home builder for several years in Colorado. While attending Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon, he served as an extern to the Honorable Otto R. Skopil, Jr., of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. After graduating from law school in 1984, he practiced law in Colorado and Connecticut before returning to Oregon to join our firm in 1998.

John has successfully tried dozens of jury trials to verdict. His practice primarily involves the defense of builders, engineers, architects, and other construction professionals, as well as personal injury and toxic tort defense.
