James joined the firm in 2019 from a criminal defense practice that provided key insights into how to thoroughly investigate the facts of cases, aggressively negotiate fair resolutions, and zealously advocate for his clients in court.
He graduated from the University of Washington School of Law in 2017. During law school he held internships with federal judges in Oregon and the Western District of Washington. These experiences honed his legal writing and research skills.
Prior to law school James spent five years teaching high school. He enjoyed coaching Special Olympics basketball and soccer and challenging students to be lifelong learners.
