Creative solutions for our clients

For Nick, using the law to help achieve client objectives is more than just a job, it’s a tradition. His Grandfather, David A. Rhoten, was a long-time Oregon lawyer, and his Great-Grandfather, George A. Rhoten, was a founder of the Salem law firm Rhoten, Rhoten & Speerstra in 1927. Nick is proud to carry that tradition forward today.

Prior to joining the firm, Nick graduated from the Willamette University College of Law with honors in 2020. In addition to his studies, Nick was a law clerk for a plaintiff-side civil litigation firm during his second year of law school, and a law clerk for a defense firm in his third year. These experiences give him the perspective to see a case from different viewpoints during the course of litigation.

Before law school, Nick worked in public affairs, including as a staffer in the Oregon Legislature and on various electoral races. Additionally, he was a student-athlete at Linfield College, receiving a bachelor’s degree with a double major in History and Political Science while also a member of the football team.

During his free time, Nick enjoys snowboarding, trying to become a better golfer, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers and Portland Trail Blazers.
