Nick was born and raised in Portland, is a lifelong Oregonian, and is proud to advocate for businesses and individuals across the Pacific Northwest. Nick’s practice focuses on commercial litigation, including employment claims, real estate disputes, commercial contract litigation, insurance coverage, and tort liability defense. Nick also has a particular passion for trademark law and constitutional takings.
Nick is a magna cum laude graduate of Lewis & Clark Law School, where he served as an articles editor on the Lewis & Clark Law Review. During law school Nick externed for the Honorable Lynn Nakamoto on the Oregon Supreme Court and at a prominent Portland litigation firm. Before law school, Nick worked in intellectual property litigation support and business development for a Portland-based IP firm. Prior to joining Davis Rothwell, Nick worked for a regional law firm focused on complex commercial litigation, insurance coverage, and business transactions.
Nick has a diverse skill set and substantial experience in motions practice and in arbitration. Nick is also experienced briefing cases in Oregon’s appellate courts. Nick recently prevailed in a case he briefed and argued before the Oregon Supreme Court regarding the enforceability of an independent contractor agreement arbitration provision, resolving nearly a decade of litigation and avoiding a potential multi-million-dollar class action proceeding.
In his free time Nick enjoys spending time outside cycling, climbing, trail running, and gardening.
